Our Ministries

We offer a variety of ministries and programs for all ages, including youth groups, Bible studies, and outreach programs. Our ministries are designed to help our members grow in their faith and serve others in our community.

Ministries

  • Our Clothing Ministry aims to help establish Shelby’s long-standing presence within the Martinsville and Shelbyville communities by (1) spreading the Gospel and (2) providing generous donations of essential clothing items, at no cost, to families and individuals in need.

Shelby’s Clothing Ministry Program is currently partnering with other churches within Shelbyville and others throughout the state of Kentucky, to include Radcliff, Frankfort, and Hopkinsville.

The goal for 2026 and beyond is to distribute clothing items on a regular routine basis, alongside of providing ministerial pathways by offering light refreshments, while engaging individuals in meaningful conversations as a demonstration of our faith.

This program aligns perfectly with our church’s mission to serve the community by addressing physical needs while sharing the messages of giving, hope and salvation. Reaching out to the underserved community will help Shelby fulfill our commitment to evangelism and community impact. Brother Robert Lee & Sister Janice Lee are the church leads on the clothing ministry.

  • Beginning November, 2025. SCMC will be providing Christmas gifts for families/children in need. No families will be left behind this season! Call us for more info or to get involved: (502)-837-6975

  • Led by Sister Dotty Rucker, Feeding with a Purpose brings together women and girls to share knowledge about food preparation. The prepared meals are then delivered to elderly, sick, or anyone in need in the neighborhood. More info coming soon. Give us a call to get involved: (502)-837-6975

  • Pastor Walker led efforts to create a community and family resource center in the lot adjacent to our church. The vision is for the center to house a Martinsville history audio-visual display, parenting support, job training, GED services, community health workers, and various other resources to meet the needs of our neighborhood and broader local community. Sister Denise Higgins is the church lead on this project.
