Reverend Ronald L. Walker Sr.
Served as SCMC Pastor from 2007 to 2025
In 2025, the earthly life of Pastor Walker came to an untimely close. He was not just a Pastor, but a community leader, a second parent to many, and a guiding force for us all. He was married to Sister Theresa Walker and left behind 7 children and many grandchildren.
Pastor Walker had a heart for education, and his mission was to teach those who were willing to learn and encourage those who were reluctant. He had a vision to establish a Martinsville Heritage Center that would provide resources for local families, including mentorship, economic, and workforce development. Under his leadership, SCMC initiated church restoration, applied for historical marker designation, established a Farmer’s Market Program and helped clarify a vision to awaken the strength and resilience of the local community.
Pastor Walker attended Central High School in Louisville and Western Kentucky University. He held degrees from Murray State University and the University of Louisville. He was an accomplished businessman, teacher and Pastor whose impact continues to grow.
